Aromateria Scents & Sensibilities

Happiness is like perfume. You can't give it away without getting some on yourself.

Too Much Navel Gazing

Not working for money is an interesting thing. And by this I don’t mean not working for money as in stealing or being an investment banker. I mean looking at work not just as a means to get money, but as an expression of what you want to be doing and what you are passionate about.

It might mean you don’t get as much opportunities to enjoy the things you like. It means putting off traveling the world or missing out on that once-in-a-lifetime concert every now and then.

But it also does NOT mean that the world owes you for missing out on those things. Not working for money is not any nobler than working to pay for the fancy car.

Not working for money is a choice, and so is being bitter and sneering at sell-outs. One doesn’t necessarily mean the other but it also doesn’t mean you can’t do both.

Reblogged this on the bunny blog and commented:
Not everyone is lucky enough to earn a living doing the things that they love doing. It’s a reality that a lot of us must face. But that reality doesn’t mean that we can’t do the things that we’re passionate about. 🙂
